"Long Term Care Rules and Regulations Training for Pennsylvania Nurses"

Research specific to the state of Pennsylvania has demonstrated that nursing schools do not prepare nurses to provide care to older adults in the long term care setting. Pennsylvania nursing programs prepare nurses in the "hospital model" of care and all but unanimously ignore the long term care setting. This is unfortunate despite the fact that the majority of LPNs and a good number of RNs who graduate from Pennsylvania nursing programs will seek employment opportunities in long term care settings.
